The Secrets of Ashi-Thai Massage (Foot Walking)

To many, it seems bizarre that walking on someone can possibly be a good massage. In reality it is one of the best ways to achieve deep tissue massage and is ideal for back and hip pain relief.  Unlike most "asian" massage places, we practice real foot walking called Ashi-Thai by using parallel bars to allow our therapists to have full control over their weight and pressure.  Compression of muscle tissue is applied throughout the session, helping to release spasm, muscle contraction and tension, always working within your perfect range of pressure.

Ashi-Thai is an effective bodywork treatment for all types of athletic injuries. Most clients report significant decreases in pain and significant increases in range of motion and athletic performance. Clients with sports or repetitive strain injuries receiving Ashi-Thai often find they are even more flexible after the sessions than before they were injured!

We include Ashi-Thai in nearly every session as part of our Thai Sport or Thai Therapeutic massage.  There is no extra charge.  In fact, often you can't tell whether we are massaging with our hands, elbows, arms, or feet. And like all of our techniques, we always want to know how our pressure is, so don't be afraid to tell us.
